Maine Moose Hunting

The Maine moose hunt is done in the fall by lottery. The winter is the application period to apply, which can be found by clicking the following link https://www.maine.gov/ifw/hunting-trapping/moose-permit.html The drawing is a huge event that takes place in mid-June. Winners of the lottery are awarded a six-day season. There are three different seasons in the fall that you could be chosen for. In Maine, you do have the option to try and swap your moose permit with another lottery winner for a different season or zone. Just contact us and we can help you with your swap and give you all the information that you will need. 

We guide our moose hunts in zones 4, 4A, 8, 9 and 14. 

We really enjoy moose hunting during the September season. The moose are at the peak of the rut and the cows and bulls both are very vocal. We will get out of the truck and do some walking off the beaten path, so we end up in their living room. We'll do some calling and hopefully call them into close range for a perfect shot. If you want to hunt moose with a bow, the September season would be your best bet. 

The price of the moose hunt includes food, lodging, game retrieval, field dressing, moose retrieval, and transportation.
